This is pretty magic! The ferry runs back up to Hobart. | ![]() |
| This actually lights up at night - we camped just down the road at Anzac Park and saw it on our nightly walk! Very clever stuff and te view of course is the beautiful Tamar River running into Launceston. The people in this area are woinderfully friendly. | ![]() |

| This is one clever letterbox though using natures own materials plus a little bit of recycled corrugated iron. This one is right opposite Kellys Lookout and parking is VERY difficult! | ![]() |

| This spot truly is paradise and very peaceful. | ![]() |

| Only 12 locals live in this beautiful area most of the time. Not even a local shop for 40 kms! | ![]() |

| This one must have been made by a retired engineer - it's just so strong! | ![]() |

| This is a basic box but gosh what a fantastic view of the most western part of Cradle Mountain National Park! | ![]() |

| The lovely island scene is actually painted on the garage door. Sadly our photo just doesn't do it justice - particularly the dirty big shadow of a telegraph pole right down the middle. If we visit again we certainly will have another go at this one! So it truly is a letterbox with a view. | ![]() |

This has to be one of the most scenic drives in Tassie. The road turns to dirt just after these guys and it just gets better and better. | ![]() |
| Views like this one just go on and on for miles. The opposite shore is just down from the norther tip of North Bruny Island in Tasmania. | ![]() |
This is on a delightful dirt road and the photo just doesn't do it justice! | ![]() |
This is a wonderful area for letterbox spotting! It took us over two hours to cover just 12 kms! |

This has to be one of the most peaceful areas on earth! Just about all dirt roads. |

This is a delightful road even though a bit hilly in parts. | ![]() |
Another wonderfully scenic full of letterboxes dirt road! | ![]() |
This road leads to a tiny group of holiday houses secluded in their own little bay. About 2 kms in. |

This is very lovely country. | ![]() |
One of the best old drum boxes we have come across - immaculate house tooooo! |

We liked the flag idea - just like the USA but now taking on in Oz. | ![]() |
Another lovely dirt road with magnificent scenery. | ![]() |
One of the best milk churns we have come across. |

This has to be one of our favourites! | ![]() |
At present this one is the best letterbox we have found in New South Wales! We were beginning to despair at finding anything really out of the ordinary. We have photographed all angles to make it easy for anyone wanting to make one! Yes this little guy is made out of an inverted old drum! The owners dog took a fancy to us and ended up having morning tea of "Smackos" with us! You could possibly get away with giving one to your young son for Xmas as he has such a space age feel. How about those eyes! A really fantastic effort. More photos of this letterbox on this page | ![]() |
