We almost missed this one! You know how you drive past a place then get this funny feeling you've missed something, so you turn back because of the good vibes. The sign says Picnic Area 2 kms and if you blink you'll miss this one, as it is just a small cleared area beside the lake with zero signage. It does have hundreds of bellbirds singing their heads off. |

This would make an excellent forest overnight
stop - remember you can free camp in any NSW State Forest
and yes you can always take your dog. If you wish you can park with your
back wheels almost in the water! If you park parallel with the lake there
is a nice bit of grass for your awning! If you continue along the forest
road it brings you back onto Tourist Road 8 - only 6 kms
and very pretty with few overhead hazards.

Telstra GSM and CDMA work great right along the complete loop road. You are just about guaranteed to have this place to yourself if you do decide to overnight, and its definitely one of those spots where you can leave all the curtains open and wake up to the view out the back window! Of course being a NSW State Forest your doggy is more than welcome. Absolutely recommended if you love peace and quiet. If you are scarred of the dark this is not the spot for you! HEMA 31 H
