This top spot is 11 kms in from the Princes Highway, but is well worth the effort and you never know you might like it so much you end up staying in the dog friendly caravan park. Situated right at the southern end of Kioloa Beach it has commanding views right up the coast and out to the nearby offshore islands. Toilets are nearby in the Volunteer Coast Guard centre building, but there is no town water - there isn't any at all in this area. Nice tables and chairs in a grassed garden setting plus a good BBQ. Pop upstairs and take a peek at the radio operators at work - what a view! |

Plenty of entertainment from the boatramp
and the antics of the prolific bird life. Walking opportunities are wonderful.
You can either stroll up the white sandy beach or rock hop round to Merry
Beach. This walk ends with spectacular vistas of the cliffs at
the northern end of Pebbly Beach. It also has some of the
best shell collecting on the coast. Dog friendly even on the beach.

Turn off at the Shell Service Station
at Termiel 20 kms south of Ulladulla or 32 kms north of Batemans
Bay. Just follow Murramarang Road past the Kioloa Beach Caravan Park and
turn left 1/2 a kilometer past it and follow the launching ramp signs.
You have missed the turnoff if you strike dirt! The road in is all good
bitumen with no hazards at all and no problems with long rigs except on
super busy days such as Boxing Day. We haven't free camped here but lots
do, but be aware being a launching ramp it will be noisy before sun up!.

Swimming here is excellent with no sharp drop offs that
we could find. The water is absolutely crystal clear. Doggies seem to
be very welcome here with many locals swimming with their pets. This
spot is one of our top favourites and is absolutely recommended
despite the longer than normal trek in. Hema 31 E12 |
