If Jerry cans are not securely clamped they will eventually abrade through on rough roads. This one was fitted with rubber insertion to prevent this happening. You can pick this up quite cheaply at Clark Rubber. A budget way to do it is cutting up inner tubes and attaching with contact adhesive. Note the wire type security lock - a very good move.
