Campersat Satellite TV Aerials

The Campersat Satellite TV System is a relatively new product. The best way to learn about the intricacies of satellite is to attend any of the larger CMCA Rallies as Campersat attend most and hold workshops as well. The main thing to look at is your ability and patience to aim it at the satellite. For satellite TV to work it MUST have an absolutely clear line of sight directly to the satellite. Systems range from $1700.00 to $3,500.00 and does not include installation.

The young lass running Campersat is very knowledgeable and extremely helpful and there are lots of fairly descriptive hand outs at seminars. We spoke to as many users as we could at Barcaldine. Half hadn't yet mastered the Campersat and had a Winegard aerial installed as well just as a "back up". The photos below were taken in a friends beautifully finished Swagman. Another lower cost system is the Abrolga however this is designed to mount on the ground. Campersat advertise "Satellite Internet". This technology is in its infancy and in our view is not ready for economic use as yet, plus the it is only a one way link as you need a normal telephone connection as well. We have yet to see this system demonstrated live. The Campersat equipment is very well made with quite good documentation. If you just can't live without TV then it is absolutely the right system for you, as you will be able to pick up all the free to air commercial channels as you travel around Australia plus some radio stations.

Campersat have a website. It is a bit of a funny one in that almost every page requires a PDF download. We will publish anyones comments who cares to write in. There are a couple of testimonials on their site but no email contact for verification.
