Speed Alert Kit from Jaycar
|
Why would you need a Digital Speedometer/Speed Alert Kit? Simple - to stop getting booked in radar traps if you don't have cruise control. It beeps at you if you exceed the speed you set on it. CMCA rally sparkie Geoff Adcock showed us this device he is making up for his Coaster. The kit came from Jaycar Electronics and cost $64.95. The following is Jaycar's blurb:- Refer Silicon Chip November/December 1999 A combined speedometer / speed alert that fits neatly into a small jiffy box (83 x 54 x 31mm) for mounting on your dashboard. Unlike its' bulkier predecessor, this latest microprocessor-based kit features a 3-digit LED display, 0-159km/h range with visual and audible alert and actual speed readout. It's also $40 cheaper than the 1997 design! Kit includes PCBs, silk-screened black jiffy box, speed sensor bobbin and wire, pre-programmed microprocessor, magnets and all electronic components. Simple aluminum bracket required for speed sensor mounting. |
