Winnebago New Sullage Valves
|
Winnebago seem to have stopped using Valterra gate valves in favour of 25 mm ball valves. The main advantage is just about zero bending down to operate. Hoses are easier to fit onsite and far easier to store being a smaller diameter. The only drawbacks are some models have the taps coming out of the side of the tank. This means a chance of smells developing if food scraps find their way into the tank if a sink strainer is not used. With the Valterra everything got dumped due to the huge rush! General opinion from the old hands seems to be to completely empty the tank in one go rather than leave the hose on the ground "on" all the time when you are in a caravan park etc. This makes good sense and so far we have no smells but we do pop a cup of bleach in there each day. (great for cleaning dentures cheaply!) The photos below show the set up on 2002 Leisure Seekers. |
