Now before you get too excited these wonderful motorhomes are no longer made - heaven knows why as they are excellent units. The complete motorhome section is all made from fibreglass. This also proves the long lasting qualities of this material. It was years ahead of its time when released as Matilda at that stage had not made an appearance. This model was made for the Newmans rental fleet so it has a double cab over bed and two singles. |

The layout is rather unique in that access is via the rear only. This allows the use of two full length single beds in a really short overall length. We really liked the lamps pictured below. You simply twist the top to operate the two lighting levels. The switchboard is very comprehensive and mounted above the rear facing door.

Windows are all glass sliders - they are absolutely huge and are also fully screened. All Safaris have a wonderful airy feel. We liked the way the cupboard doors latched. Each door has a hole. You pop your finger in the hole and release a catch. Very positive and ALWAYS locked.

The "L" shaped kitchen is great. How many motorhomes do you know off sporting a double bowl sink? All cabinets are fibreglass with a wood trim. This means they are easy to get looking like new again simply by painting the trim.

The table is excellent for those into cards, craft, computers etc. and very comfortable. You could easily seat six for dinner as it is as big as a normal kitchen table! We didn't get an outside picture as get caught in a massive storm, however the outside lines are very good looking and rather timeless in design.

The rear step pictured above is an owner innovation. Rather oddly Safari didn't provide a step on any model. We have a good mate in Brisbane Sunshine Wanderers who traded his in simply because it had no back step. The model pictured was on sale in Queensland for $39,990.00. It had a bull bar, twin air all on a Toyota. The only drawback with this model is no shower or toilet.
