Low Cost Acer LCD Monitor - $499.00!

As we predicted several months ago LCD monitors are falling rapidly in price. The unit reviewed here cost us just $499.00 and this was not a spot special but the everyday price in Brisbane at Concorde Computers. Amazing when you think we bought a similar Acer monitor 6 months ago for a laptop computer for just under $1000.00. Warranty has gone up from 12 months to 3 years with in home service. So why are we mentioning this here? Well you can of course plug it into any cheaper laptop with a hard to see screen or you can move into the future and watch super clear TV on it. This is the purpose we have bought it for. The base is round which means it will easily install on any flat surface in the motorhome and then be very easy to swivel if you perhaps need to watch from several directions. In a previous newsletter we described a system put together by Solar Panel Xpress. We are heading down the same path as there are many advantages with this system with the main one being bigger picture (15") compared to our old favourite the 10" Orion. When portable recordable DVD's start filtering through it will be a perfect world. Neil Hill the CEO of Phaselink already uses such a system on his boat.
