This would have to be the cheapest electric bike we have ever come across and by a huge margin as well. You can also buy the bits if you wish. We tried to do this with $1000.00 plus bikes and surprise, surprise they will not sell just the "bits"! Enter Oatley Electronics in Sydney. You can buy a geared motor for $75.00, motorcycle style throttle $8.90, chain and sprocket kit $12.00, batteries and chargers etc. This is an excellent electric bike with a robust design and good power. Equipped with a 24V battery and a 200 watt motor, this electric bike cruises at 20km/h for approximately 15km. Features include variable speed control, standard front brake and rear drum brake, adjustable handlebars and seat, head light and front blinker, inflatable wheels, side stand & more. Forget waiting for trains and busses that don't come, the regulations on the NSW RTA Web site indicate that they can be ridden under the same rules as a bicycle. It comes complete with mains charger and batteries. Please not that we have not physically tested one of these as yet.
