Workers on Wheels
|
WOW is what this wonderful site put together by Colleen and Bob in the USA is all about! First up here's the link in case we forget www.workersonwheels.com. They produce a newsletter available by email simply by forwarding a blank email request (bottom right of page). It's a travelogue of their lives as full-time RVers. It's also a practical how-to guide on the social and technical aspects of RVing and they deliver it right to your email box, free. Now there is no such thing as a free lunch so if you would like back issues you must buy them online for US$1.00 per issue. Fair enough. Now the best page to get a hanker on what this site is all about is this one. Here is a tiny sample from this page - remember Colleen has also written a book on this subject. |

"I firmly believe that most anyone who wants to be a full-time RVer can be and that he/she can find a suitable way to financially support him/herself and his/her family in the process. There are far too many types of jobs available for working RVers to list them all, but here's a small sampling...bus driver, actor, musician, tour guide, computer programmer, clown, grain harvester, baker, mobile dental clinic dentist, manufacturer's rep, MLM sales, party planner, crafter, brain tanner, mechanic, nurse, construction worker, pizza delivery, tobacco stripper, windshield repairman, bathroom cleaner, steam train engineer, tree planter, bookkeeper, sign maker, dog show judge, teacher, masseuse, apple picker, carpenter, bus driver, writer, tattoo artist, inventor, sales clerk, solar equipment installer, image consultant, product demonstrator, property caretaker, day labor, mini-storage managers, video maker, landscaper, cook, gas line inspector, Christmas tree lot manager, magician, woodworker, business consultant, security guard, seamstress, events organizer, speaker, heavy equipment operator, fence installer, waitress, fair vendor.... Some practical suggestions for getting a better idea of what work might be suitable for you.... Make a list of the things you are able to do; your skills and abilities; things you have been trained for; tasks that you do in your present job; work that you do around the home and yard; things that you do for fun or in your volunteer work." (more by clicking on this link. . . . . ) How Can WOW Help You? Well if you would like to tour the USA on a budget there are ideas all
over the place. RVs in the States are way under half of the inflated prices
we are all forced to pay here. So the best bet could be to subscribe to
the free newsletter and keep your eyes peeled. Don't forget you need a
"green card" to work in the States. |
